Founder and President, M. Young Communications, Inc.
Melanie Young has been the catalyst behind some of the nation's most prestigious culinary and restaurant programs for the past ten years: The James Beard Foundation Awards, Bon Appétit Wine & Spirits Focus, and New York Restaurant Week. She serves the food industry in many capacities, from advisor to promoter to writer to fundraiser. Her company, M. Young Communications, Inc., specializes in the creation and management of high-profile culinary events, fundraisers and publicity campaigns for food, beverage and hospitality concerns. A separate company, FoodSpeak LLC, provides culinary spokespeople for corporations, products, and food and nutrition organizations. M. Young Communications was founded in 1989. FoodSpeak was established in 1994.
Ms. Young is a member of the prestigious Les Dames D'Escoffier, The James Beard Foundation, International Association of Culinary Professionals, Association of Women Chefs & Restaurateurs, and New York Women in Communications. In July 2001, she was profiled on Gotham Television's segment "Who's Making It" as a mover and shaker in the NYC restaurant industry.
