LES DAMES D’ESCOFFIER NEW YORK AWARDS 22 SCHOLARSHIPS TOTALING $92,000

New York, July 9, 2010 – Les Dames d’Escoffier New York (LDNY) has awarded 22
scholarships to women pursuing careers in fine food, beverage and hospitality professions. A total of $92,000 was awarded. Of this amount, $59,000 was in cash donations and $33,000 was in-kind from leading culinary schools in New York State.

GEORGES DUBOEUF DECLARES 2009

“THE VINTAGE OF A LIFETIME”

New York, April 29, 2010 – When wine producer Georges Duboeuf tasted the first barrel samples of his 2009 Beaujolais wines, he was certain it would be “the vintage of a lifetime.” This harvest is actually considered one of the best of the last 50 years. “We had perfect weather during harvest with 50,000 grape pickers hard at work across the 3,000 vineyards of Beaujolais starting in September”, said Duboeuf. “The intensity and brightness of the grapes were unlike anything I had ever seen.”

THE KINGDOM OF NAVARRA HOST WINE PRESENTATION IN NEW YORK

New York, February 18 - The Kingdom of Navarra presented 17 wine producers at a seminar and tasting
for wine and food industry professionals in New York on February 9 at the W Hotel at Union Square. Robin Kelley O’Connor, director of sales and education for Sherry-Lehmann; Ana Laguna, Navarra wine authority and Pilar Garcia, president of the Navarra Regulatory Council, led the morning seminar which was followed by an afternoon walk around wine tasting with tapas prepared by Navarran Chef David Yarnoz of Restaurante el Molino de Urdániz.
